Girls Belong in Baseball

Yes, girls belong in baseball. This simple statement guides everything we do.

Philly Girls Baseball Mission:

  • Provide women and girls with more opportunities to coach and play baseball.

  • Provide mentorship to players, and  become mentors ourselves for the next generation of girls.

  • Cultivate an environment where girls are challenged, supported, and accepted.

With us, they are baseball players

Philly Girls Baseball is a non-profit 501c3. We began in 2019 with a small group of girls who gathered together for extra hitting practices at a local recreation center.

Today, our program draws girls ages 8+ from Philadelphia and the surrounding areas.

We offer blend of playing opportunities ranging from our “no-cut” practices and local games to the most competitive tournament team experiences. We welcome new players on a rolling basis, because girls belong in baseball! If you want to find out more before registering, fill in our player interest form and one of our volunteers will reach out to you. Please allow 1-2 weeks for a response.

About our Name: Philly Flames

After playing under our organization name, Philly Girls Baseball, the players themselves recognized the need for a secondary team name.

In 2023 our players developed a list of potential names. All of the options coordinated with our logo, which features the silhouette of a baseball player against a backdrop of flames. At our end of season event, the players conducted a ranked vote to chose our name, and the players tallied the votes to decide our name

Name Voting Options

  • Fire

  • Flames

  • Flame Throwers

  • Phoenix

  • Fire Birds

In 2024 our tournament teams debuted the Philly Flames name!
